Thanks to you, our readers and authors, 2016 was the biggest year yet for Brain Lag. The addition of our fifth author, Stephen B. Pearl, and his Tinker books, along with Hugh A. D. Spencer’s Why I Hunt Flying Saucers And Other Fantasticals and J. R. Dwornik’s Green Light to Paradise expanded the Brain Lag lineup by 67%!

In 2017, we’re working on getting out to more local events. Here is our schedule so far:

March 17-19: Toronto Comicon
April 1: Kitchener Comicon
May 5-7: Ad Astra
May 13: The Bookshelf
June 2-4: Niagara Falls Comic Con
August 17-20: Gen Con
September 24: The Word on the Street

Our event calendar will be updated as new events are added, and stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter accounts for up-to-date news on upcoming events and other author appearances.

Finally, our submission guidelines have been updated. We hope that this update clarifies what we are looking for in submissions. Also note that we are actively seeking works by or featuring women and minorities. We believe in diversity in fiction at Brain Lag, so please spread the word so we can help bring more inclusive tales to life.

We’re looking forward to another great year!

Brain Lag now has an official YouTube channel. Here is where we will post news, interviews, Q&As, author readings, and more related to our authors and books. Check out our playlist of videos featuring Brain Lag authors and subscribe to be the first to know when new content is posted.

Our first video has been posted to the channel, the much anticipated trailer for Enduring Chaos:

Please like, favourite, share, and subscribe! We have a lot of exciting videos in the works.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at Ad Astra in the dealers room and for helping us make the launch party for Brain Lag a success. We spoke with a lot of great authors about their books and look forward to taking Brain Lag to the next level.

Submissions are now open. If you are interested in submitting your work for consideration, please read the new guidelines page. We would be very interested in hearing from you.

We have also started up a mailing list for news about upcoming events, promotions, new titles, and more. You can find the link to register for the mailing list in the sidebar to the left and get all the latest news on Brain Lag sent directly to your inbox.

Ad Astra starts tomorrow! Look for Brain Lag in the dealers room and join us at the launch party on Saturday evening, and look for author Catherine Fitzsimmons at any of her panels or take in an advance reading from her next book on Sunday! See the event calendar for full details.

See you there!

Our first convention appearance of the year is this weekend. We will be in the dealers hall at Con-G in Guelph, Ontario. All of our titles will be available in paperback and ebook form, as well as fellow indie authors whose books we will be selling, and we will be giving out tickets for a free book giveaway on site. We also now accept credit cards.

Hope to see you there.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at SFContario. Our 2012 convention season is now over, but it won’t be long before we make more local appearances. Spring 2013 looks to be busy with several conventions and possibly some other events as well. Stay tuned and keep a watch on our calendar of upcoming events for a convention near you.

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to Kellie, the newest member of the Brain Lag team. Kellie will be helping us out with publicity and promotion, so hopefully you’ll be hearing more about Brain Lag in the months to come.

Brain Lag will be at Gen Con in Indianapolis, IN this weekend. Look for us in Author’s Avenue in the exhibitors hall, where we will be selling Aurius, Ruins of Change, and the exclusive world premiere of our third book, Halcyon.

We look forward to seeing you there!
